Strymon Brigadier Delay Pedal User Manual

Model: Brigadier

1. Introdução

The Strymon Brigadier is an advanced digital delay pedal engineered to meticulously emulate the characteristics of classic analog bucket brigade delays (BBDs). Utilizing powerful SHARC DSP technology, this pedal delivers a wide spectrum of delay tones, ranging from pristine and warm to rich and saturated. It is designed for guitarists seeking the authentic sound and feel of analog delay with modern reliability and control.

Key features include dedicated controls for modulation and filter, versatile tap tempo functionality, and an assignable expression pedal input, providing extensive sound shaping capabilities for diverse musical applications.

2. Configuração

2.1 Conexão de Energia

The Brigadier pedal requires a standard 9V DC power supply with a center-negative barrel connector. Ensure the power supply provides at least 250mA for optimal performance. Connect the power supply to the 9VDC input jack located on the rear of the pedal.

O EXP jack is for connecting an optional expression pedal, allowing real-time control over various parameters.

3.1 botões de controle

  • MISTURA: Adjusts the blend between the dry (unaffected) signal and the wet (delayed) signal. Turn clockwise for more delay effect.
  • REPETE: Controls the number of delay repeats. From a single echo to infinite feedback.
  • TEMPO: Sets the delay time. This knob works in conjunction with the Delay Time Mode switch.
  • MODULAÇÃO: Adjusts the depth and speed of the modulation applied to the delay repeats, simulating the subtle pitch variations of analog BBDs.
  • FILTRO: Shapes the tone of the delay repeats, allowing you to darken or brighten the echoes.

3.2 Delay Time Modes

The Brigadier offers three distinct delay time modes, selectable via a toggle switch:

  • CURTO: Provides very short delay times, suitable for slapback and subtle doubling effects.
  • MÉDIO: Offers classic delay times for rhythmic echoes and ambient textures.
  • LONGO: Extends delay times for expansive soundscapes and longer repeats.

3.3 Tap Tempo

The tap tempo footswitch allows you to set the delay time by tapping your foot. Tap the footswitch two or more times to set the tempo. The LED will flash to indicate the current tempo.

The Tap Tempo Modes (Quarter, Dotted Eighth, Eighth Note Triplets) can be selected via an internal or secondary function switch (refer to the full manual for detailed instructions on accessing these modes).

3.4 Expression Pedal Input

Connect a standard expression pedal to the EXP jack to control various parameters in real-time. The specific parameter controlled can be assigned via internal settings (consult the full Strymon Brigadier manual for assignment procedures).

4. Manutenção

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Strymon Brigadier pedal, follow these maintenance guidelines:

  • Limpeza: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the pedal's exterior. Avoid abrasive cleaners, solvents, or excessive moisture, which can damage the finish and internal components.
  • Armazenar: When not in use, store the pedal in a cool, dry environment away from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and high humidity.
  • Manuseio: Handle the pedal with care. Avoid dropping it or subjecting it to strong impacts. Ensure all cables are connected and disconnected gently to prevent damage to the jacks.

5. Solução De Problemas

If you encounter issues with your Strymon Brigadier, consider the following troubleshooting steps:

  • Sem som:
    • Ensure the power supply is correctly connected and providing 9V DC.
    • Check all audio cables for proper connection and functionality. Try swapping cables.
    • Verify that the pedal is engaged (LED illuminated) and the MIX knob is not set to minimum.
    • Test the pedal in a simpler signal chain (e.g., guitar directly into pedal, then pedal directly into amplificador).
  • Ruído/zumbido indesejado:
    • Ensure you are using a regulated, isolated 9V DC power supply. Unregulated or daisy-chained power supplies can introduce noise.
    • Verifique se há loops de terra em sua configuração.
    • Test different power outlets.
  • Delay Not Functioning Correctly:
    • Verify the TIME, MIX, and REPEATS knobs are set appropriately.
    • Check the Delay Time Mode switch setting.
    • If using tap tempo, ensure you are tapping clearly and consistently.

If problems persist after attempting these steps, please contact Strymon customer support for further assistance.
