Connection Steps (Point-to-Point)

  1. Connect your HDMI source device (e.g., DVD player, PC) to the Entrada HDMI port of the Transmitter unit using an HDMI cable.
  2. (Optional) Connect a local display to the HDMI Local Output port of the Transmitter unit using an HDMI cable to monitor the source.
  3. Conecte o RJ45 SAÍDA port of the Transmitter unit to the ENTRADA RJ45 port of a compatible SIIG HDMI IP Extender Receiver unit (sold separately) using a single CAT5e/6 Ethernet cable.
  4. Conecte o adaptador de energia ao Corrente contínua 5 V power jack of the Transmitter unit and plug it into an electrical outlet.
  5. Ensure the Receiver unit is also powered on and connected to its display.

Matrix Connection (Many-to-Many)

For a matrix setup, multiple transmitters and receivers are connected via a dedicated unmanaged IGMP Gigabit Switch. This allows any source to be routed to any display.

Multiple SIIG Receivers connect to the same IGMP Switch, and then to multiple HDMI displays. Arrows show signal flow from sources to displays via the switch.

Imagem: Example of a Many-to-Many Matrix Connection using an IGMP Switch.

  1. Connect all HDMI source devices to their respective SIIG HDMI IP Extender Transmitter units via the Entrada HDMI portas.
  2. Conecte o RJ45 SAÍDA port of each Transmitter unit to an available port on a dedicated unmanaged IGMP Gigabit Switch using CAT5e/6 Ethernet cables.
  3. Conecte o ENTRADA RJ45 port of each SIIG HDMI IP Extender Receiver unit (sold separately) to an available port on the same IGMP Gigabit Switch using CAT5e/6 Ethernet cables.
  4. Connect each Receiver unit to its respective HDMI display via the Saída HDMI porta.
  5. Connect power adapters to all Transmitter and Receiver units and plug them into electrical outlets.
  6. Importante: A dedicated unmanaged IGMP Gigabit Switch is highly recommended for optimal performance and reliability in matrix configurations. Ensure the switch supports IGMP functionality.

Instruções de operação

Ligar

After all connections are made, plug in the power adapters for both the Transmitter and Receiver units. The Power LED on the front panel of the Transmitter will illuminate.

TX ID Display

O Identificação do TX display on the front panel shows the identification number of the transmitter. In a matrix setup, each transmitter should have a unique ID for proper routing. Refer to the system's control software manual for configuring TX IDs.

IR Pass-Back Function

To control your HDMI source device from the remote display location:

  1. Conecte o cabo do receptor de infravermelho ao IR EM port on the Receiver unit (sold separately). Position the IR receiver eye to face your remote control.
  2. Conecte o cabo do emissor de infravermelho ao IR FORA port on the Transmitter unit. Position the IR blaster emitter directly over the IR sensor of your HDMI source device.
  3. You can now use your source device's remote control from the display location to send commands back to the source.

Passagem RS-232

The RS-232 terminal block allows for serial control of RS-232 enabled devices. Connect your RS-232 control device to the terminal block on either the Transmitter or Receiver unit to extend control signals.

Software de controle de matriz

For matrix configurations, SIIG provides computer control software to manage source selection and switching. Refer to the separate software manual for installation and operation instructions. This software allows you to route any transmitter's signal to any connected receiver.

Solução de problemas

  • Sem imagem/sinal:
    • Ensure all HDMI and Ethernet cables are securely connected.
    • Verify that both the Transmitter and Receiver units are powered on.
    • Check the HDMI source device and display for proper operation.
    • Test with shorter or different HDMI/Ethernet cables.
    • Ensure the Ethernet cable is CAT5e/6 and meets length requirements (max 120m).
    • In a matrix setup, confirm the IGMP Gigabit Switch is functioning correctly and supports IGMP.
    • Verify the TX ID on the transmitter matches the selected input on the receiver (if applicable).
  • Poor Picture Quality/Flickering:
    • Ensure the Ethernet cable is of high quality and properly terminated.
    • Reduza o comprimento do cabo, se possível.
    • Check for electromagnetic interference (EMI) from other devices.
    • Verify that the resolution settings on the source device are compatible with the extender and display.
  • Controle por infravermelho não funciona:
    • Ensure the IR Blaster is correctly positioned over the source device's IR sensor.
    • Ensure the IR Receiver is facing your remote control and connected to the Receiver unit.
    • Check for obstructions between the remote and the IR Receiver.
  • RS-232 Control Issues:
    • Verify the RS-232 cable connections and pin assignments.
    • Ensure the baud rate and other serial communication settings match between the control device and the extender.
