- Botão de teste/silenciamento: Utilizado para testar o alarme e silenciar alarmes falsos.
- Campainha: Emits an 85 dB alarm sound during smoke detection.
3. Configuração e instalação
Proper installation is crucial for the effective operation of your smoke detector.
3.1 Escolha de um local de instalação
- Install smoke detectors in all sleeping areas and on every level of your home, including the basement.
- For optimal coverage, place detectors in hallways leading to bedrooms.
- Avoid installing in kitchens, bathrooms, garages, or near ventilation openings, as steam, cooking fumes, or exhaust can cause false alarms.
- Ensure the detector is within range of your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network for app connectivity.

3.2 Instalação Física
The detector offers flexible installation options:

Imagem 3.2: Flexible installation using adhesive or screws.
- Instalação do adesivo: Clean the ceiling surface thoroughly. Peel off the protective film from the adhesive pad on the back of the detector and firmly press it onto the desired ceiling location.
- Instalação do parafuso: Use the provided screws and anchors to mount the base plate to the ceiling. Then, attach the smoke detector to the base plate by twisting it clockwise until it clicks into place.
- Once installed, twist the detector to activate it.
3.3 App Pairing (Tuya/Smart Life)
To receive real-time notifications and manage your detector, connect it to the Tuya or Smart Life app.

Imagem 3.3: App pairing process with Smart Life/Tuya.
- Ensure your phone's Bluetooth is enabled and connected to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network.
- Press and hold the Test/Hush button on the detector for more than 5 seconds until the blue light starts flashing. Release the button. This indicates the device is in Wi-Fi pairing mode.
- Open the "Smart Life" or "Tuya" app on your smartphone and click "Add Device".
- The app will search for nearby devices. Once the detector is found, click "Add".
- Enter your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network password and click "Next".
- Wait for the device to successfully connect to the app.
- Once connected, click "Done". The device status in the app should show "High" or "Normal" indicating proper connection.

4. Operação
4.1 Operação normal
During normal operation, the LED indicator will flash periodically (e.g., every 56 seconds) to confirm the detector is functioning correctly. The device performs an automatic self-test every 56 seconds to check circuits, electronics, and battery status.
4.2 Ativação de Alarme
When smoke is detected and reaches the activation threshold (≥ 0.45 db/m), the detector will:
- Emit a loud 85 dB alarm sound from the buzzer.
- The red LED indicator will flash rapidly.
- Send an immediate push notification to your smartphone via the Tuya/Smart Life app (ensure your phone has internet access and app permissions are granted).

4.3 Silencing the Alarm (Hush Function)
In case of a false alarm (e.g., from cooking fumes), you can temporarily silence the alarm:
- Press the Test/Hush button on the detector.
- Alternatively, use the "Silence" function within the Tuya/Smart Life app.
The alarm will be silenced for a short period, typically 10 minutes, after which it will reactivate if smoke is still present. Clear the area of smoke before silencing.

4.4 Device Sharing Function
You can share access to your smoke detector with up to 12 other accounts on the Tuya/Smart Life app. This ensures that multiple family members or occupants receive real-time notifications.

5. Manutenção
5.1 Testando o detector
It is recommended to test your smoke detector regularly (e.g., monthly) to ensure it is functioning correctly.
- Press and hold the Test/Hush button on the detector until the alarm sounds. This confirms the buzzer and electronics are working.
- To test with actual smoke, extinguish 3 candles simultaneously in a small, enclosed space and direct the dense smoke towards the side grille of the detector. The alarm should activate within 3 to 5 seconds.
5.2 Autonomia e Substituição da Bateria
The PHYSEN Smart WiFi Smoke Detector is equipped with a 10-year battery. The device will notify you via the app and potentially with a low battery chirp when the battery needs replacement. Do not attempt to replace the internal battery yourself; the unit is designed for a 10-year lifespan and should be replaced entirely after this period.

Imagem 5.1: The smoke detector features a 10-year battery and sensor life.
5.3 Limpeza
Dust and debris can affect the detector's performance. Clean the exterior of the detector at least once a year using a soft, damp cloth. Do not use cleaning sprays or solvents. Gently vacuum around the ventilation grilles to remove any accumulated dust.
6. Solução De Problemas
6.1 Alarmes falsos
- Fumaça/Vapor da Cozinha: If the alarm sounds due to cooking or steam, use the Hush function. Consider relocating the detector further from the kitchen or bathroom.
- Poeira/Detritos: Clean the detector as described in Section 5.3.
- Insect Infestation: If insects are entering the detector, clean it and consider moving it.
6.2 Detector Not Alarming During Test
- Problema da bateria: Although it has a 10-year battery, ensure the device is twisted into its base correctly to activate the battery. If the app indicates a low battery, the unit may need replacement if it's near its end-of-life.
- Falha do dispositivo: If the self-test fails and the app reports a device fault, the unit may be defective and require replacement.
6.3 Sem notificações de aplicativos
- Conectividade Wi-Fi: Ensure the detector is connected to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network and the signal is strong. Check your router and internet connection.
- Permissões do aplicativo: Verify that the Tuya/Smart Life app has permissions to send notifications on your smartphone.
- Phone Internet Connection: Your smartphone needs to be connected to the internet (Wi-Fi or mobile data) to receive notifications.
- Dispositivo off-line: If the app shows the device as "offline", the Wi-Fi connection may be lost or the battery is critically low.
- SMS/Call Service: Note that optional SMS or call alerts from the app are a paid service provided by Tuya/Smart Life and are separate from standard app push notifications.
6.4 Why burning paper might not trigger the alarm
Open fires, such as burning paper, often produce very little smoke when combustion is complete. This might be below the activation threshold (≥ 0.45 db/m) of the photoelectric detector. For a reliable test, use the Test/Hush button or the candle smoke method described in Section 5.1.
