1. Introdução

The ASUS P8H67-V is an ATX motherboard designed to support 2nd Generation Intel Core i7/Core i5/Core i3 Processors, utilizing the Intel H67 chipset. This motherboard offers a range of features including SATA 6 Gb/s, USB 3.0, and support for DDR3 1333MHz memory. This manual provides essential information for the proper installation, configuration, and maintenance of your motherboard.

3. Configuração e instalação

3.1 Instalação Física

Before installing the motherboard, ensure your computer case is compatible with the ATX form factor. Handle the motherboard by its edges to avoid static discharge.

  1. Prepare o caso: Instale o painel de E/S na abertura traseira do gabinete do seu computador.
  2. Instale a CPU: Carefully open the LGA 1155 socket lever, align the CPU with the socket (matching the golden triangle on the CPU to the triangle on the socket), gently place the CPU into the socket, and close the lever to secure it.
  3. Instale o cooler da CPU: Mount the compatible CPU cooler according to its manufacturer's instructions.
  4. Instalar módulos de memória: Open the clips of the DDR3 DIMM slots. Align the memory modules with the slots, ensuring the notch on the module matches the key in the slot. Press down firmly on both ends until the clips snap into place. For dual-channel operation, refer to the motherboard manual for recommended slot configurations.
  5. Instale a placa-mãe: Carefully place the motherboard into the case, aligning the screw holes with the stand-offs. Secure the motherboard with screws. Note: The P8H67-V has 6 stand-off mounts. For areas lacking support, such as near the RAM slots and SATA connectors, consider using a non-conductive wedge underneath when plugging in components to prevent flexing.

3.2 Conectando Componentes

Connect all necessary power cables, data cables, and front panel connectors to the motherboard.

3.3 Inicialização Inicial

After all components are connected, ensure your power supply is switched on. You can initiate power by pressing the case's power button or by briefly shorting the power pins on the front panel header with a screwdriver (the 'screwdriver method').

The P8H67-V features a user-friendly UEFI BIOS. To enter the BIOS setup, press the DEL key during system startup. The BIOS can be navigated using either a mouse or keyboard. You can save all CMOS screen settings to a USB flash drive for future reference or backup.
