1. Introdução e informações de segurança

This manual provides essential instructions for the safe and effective operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your ECHO CS-271T-12 Gas Chain Saw. Read and understand all instructions and safety precautions before operating the chain saw. Failure to do so can result in serious injury or death.

2. Configuração e montagem

2.1 Desembalagem e Inspeção

Carefully remove the chain saw and all components from the packaging. Inspect for any shipping damage. If any damage is found, do not operate the unit and contact your dealer.

2.2 Instalação da barra e da corrente

1. Certifique-se de que o freio da corrente esteja desativado.
2. Remove the chain cover nuts and chain cover.
3. Coloque a corrente ao redor do tambor da embreagem e da barra guia, certificando-se de que as arestas de corte estejam voltadas para a frente, na parte superior da barra.
4. Monte a barra guia nos pinos, alinhando o pino tensor da corrente com o furo na barra guia.
5. Recoloque a tampa da corrente e aperte as porcas manualmente.
6. Adjust chain tension using the side access chain tensioner until the chain is snug but can still be pulled freely by hand.
7. Aperte completamente as porcas da tampa da corrente.

2.3 Fuel and Chain Oil

This chain saw requires a specific fuel mixture and chain lubricant.

• Mistura de combustível: Use a 50:1 ratio of high-quality 2-stroke engine oil to unleaded gasoline (minimum 89 octane). Mix thoroughly in a separate, approved fuel container.
• Óleo de Corrente: Use a high-quality bar and chain oil. Do not use waste oil or motor oil, as this can damage the chain and bar.

Fill the fuel tank and chain oil reservoir, ensuring not to overfill. Wipe up any spills immediately.

3. Instruções de operação

3.1 Partida do Motor (Partida a Frio)

1. Coloque a motosserra em uma superfície firme e plana. Certifique-se de que o freio da corrente esteja acionado.
2. Press the purge bulb several times until fuel is visible in the return line.
3. Mova a alavanca do afogador para a posição FULL CHOKE.
4. Pull the starter handle firmly and quickly until the engine fires (usually 1-3 pulls). Do not pull the rope to its full extension.
5. Once the engine fires, move the choke lever to the HALF CHOKE position.
6. Puxe a alavanca de partida novamente até que o motor ligue e funcione.
7. Once the engine is running, move the choke lever to the RUN position. Allow the engine to warm up for a few moments.
8. Desengate o freio da corrente antes de iniciar as operações de corte.

3.3 Técnicas de Corte

Always maintain a firm grip with both hands on the chain saw handles. Stand with your feet apart for balance. Avoid cutting with the tip of the guide bar to prevent kickback.

• Ramificação: Remove branches from a fallen tree. Work from the bottom up, supporting the branch if necessary to prevent pinching.
• Contrariando: Cut a fallen log into sections. Be aware of tension and compression in the wood to avoid pinching the bar.

Remove the spark plug and inspect for fouling or wear. Clean or replace as necessary. Ensure the correct gap is set.
