Introdução
This manual provides comprehensive instructions for the safe and efficient operation, setup, and maintenance of your Elna eXcellence 680+ Sewing Machine. Please read this manual thoroughly before using the machine to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

Instruções de segurança
- Sempre desconecte a máquina da tomada elétrica ao remover tampas, lubrificar ou fazer qualquer outro ajuste de manutenção do usuário mencionado no manual de instruções.
- Mantenha os dedos longe de todas as peças móveis. É necessário cuidado especial com a agulha da máquina de costura.

Configurar
1. Desembalagem e colocação
Carefully remove the machine from its packaging. Place the machine on a stable, level surface with adequate lighting. Ensure there is enough space for fabric handling.
2. Conexão de energia
- Conecte o cabo de alimentação à entrada de energia da máquina e, em seguida, a uma tomada elétrica adequada.

3. Instalação da agulha

- Place the empty bobbin onto the bobbin winder spindle and push it to the right.
- Start the machine to wind the bobbin. Stop when full.
- Abra a tampa da bobina.
- Insira a bobina enrolada na caixa da bobina, certificando-se de que a linha se desenrole na direção correta (geralmente no sentido anti-horário).
- Pull the thread through the tension spring and guide it into the thread slot.
- Substitua a placa de cobertura da bobina.

5. Upper Thread Threading
- Levante a alavanca do calcador.
- Coloque um carretel de linha no porta-carretel.
- Siga o percurso de linha numerado indicado na máquina, guiando a linha através de todos os discos de tensão e guias.
- Thread the needle from front to back. Use the automatic needle threader if available.
- Puxe a linha da bobina através do orifício da placa da agulha girando o volante em sua direção para abaixar e levantar a agulha uma vez.
Operando a máquina
1. Controles Básicos
- Botão Iniciar / Parar: Press to start and stop sewing without the foot controller.

- Botão de agulha para cima/para baixo: Raises or lowers the needle to its highest or lowest position.
- Botão reverso: Sews in reverse to secure stitches.

2. Seleção de Pontos
The Elna eXcellence 680+ features an LCD screen and direct stitch selection buttons. Use the navigation buttons to browse through stitch categories and select your desired stitch. The screen will display recommended stitch length and width, which can be adjusted using the +/- buttons.

3. Noções básicas de costura
- Coloque o tecido sob o calcador.
- Abaixe o calcador.
- Selecione o ponto desejado.
- Begin sewing by pressing the foot controller or the Start/Stop button.
- Guide the fabric gently. Do not force it.
- At the end of a seam, press the reverse button to secure stitches, then press the automatic thread cutter button.
4. Using the Extension Table
The included extension table provides a larger work surface, which is particularly useful for quilting, larger projects, or when more support for fabric is needed. To attach, slide the extension table onto the free arm until it clicks into place. To remove, slide it off.

Manutenção
1. Limpeza
- Remoção de fiapos e poeira: Regularly clean the bobbin area and feed dogs using the provided brush. Turn off and unplug the machine before cleaning.
- Placa de agulha: Remove the needle plate to access and clean under the feed dogs.
2. Lubrificação
The Elna eXcellence 680+ is designed for minimal oiling. Refer to the full instruction manual for specific oiling points if required, or consult an authorized service center.
3. Substituição de agulha
Replace the needle frequently, especially after 8-10 hours of sewing or if it becomes bent or dull. A fresh needle prevents skipped stitches and fabric damage. Follow the needle installation steps in the Setup section.
