Configurar

  2. Place Tumbler: Position the tumbling machine on a stable, level surface. Ensure it is away from water sources and out of reach of small children.
  3. Prepare Barrel: Open the rubber barrel by unscrewing the knob and removing the metal and rubber lids.
  4. Adicionar pedras: Place your rough gemstones into the barrel. Fill the barrel approximately 1/2 to 2/3 full to allow sufficient space for tumbling.
  5. Add Grit: Refer to the instruction manual for the correct amount of coarse grit (Step 1) for the initial tumbling stage.

  7. Seal Barrel: Securely place the rubber lid, then the metal lid, and tighten the knob to ensure a leak-proof seal.

Instruções de operação

The tumbling process involves four distinct stages, each using a different grit type and specific duration. Patience is key, as the entire process can take several weeks.

  1. Ligar: Plug the tumbler into a power outlet. The digital display will illuminate.
  2. Definir dias: Use the '+' and '-' buttons under 'DAYS' to set the desired tumbling duration for the current grit stage. Refer to the manual's suggested tumbling times.
  3. Definir velocidade: Use the '+' and '-' buttons under 'SPEED' to select the tumbling speed (1-3). Higher speeds are generally used for initial stages, lower for polishing.
  4. Comece a cair: Press the 'Power' button to begin the tumbling cycle. The machine will run continuously until the set time elapses, then automatically shut off.
  5. Changing Grits: Depois de cada stage, turn off the tumbler, remove the barrel, and carefully open it. Pour the contents (rocks and used grit/water) through the provided strainer into a designated outdoor area or a bucket. Never pour used grit down household drains, as it can cause severe clogs. Thoroughly rinse the rocks and the inside of the barrel to remove all traces of the previous grit before proceeding to the next stage.
  6. Repetir Stagé: Follow the instructions for adding the next grit type (medium, fine, polish) and repeat the tumbling process for the recommended duration for each stage.

Manutenção

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your rock tumbler:

  • Limpeza: Always clean the barrel and rocks thoroughly between each grit stage to prevent cross-contamination. Use a garden hose or a dedicated bucket for rinsing.
  • Inspeção da correia: Periodically check the durable tumbling belt for wear and tear. A spare belt is included in your kit for replacement if needed.
  • Armazenar: When not in use, store the tumbler and its components in a clean, dry place.

If you encounter issues with your rock tumbler, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  • Tumbler Not Tumbling or Tumbling Intermittently:
    • Ensure there is sufficient weight in the tumbling barrel. The barrel should be 1/2 to 2/3 full.
    • Add more rocks or water to achieve the proper weight and allow for effective tumbling action.
    • Check that the drive belt is properly seated and not worn out. Replace if necessary.

    • While the rubber barrel is designed for reduced noise, the tumbling of rocks will produce some sound. Consider placing the tumbler in a garage or utility room if noise is a concern.

    • Thoroughly clean rocks and the barrel between grit stages to prevent coarser grit from contaminating finer stage.
    • Consider using ceramic filler or plastic pellets with smaller batches of rocks to ensure proper tumbling action and prevent damage.
