1. Introdução
This manual provides essential information for the safe installation, operation, and maintenance of the Schneider Electric Acti 9 iC60 RCBO (Residual Current Circuit Breaker with Overcurrent protection), Model A9D27210. This device combines the functions of a miniature circuit breaker (MCB) and a residual current device (RCD) in a single unit, offering protection against overloads, short circuits, and earth leakage currents.
It is designed for use in electrical installations to ensure the safety of personnel and equipment. Please read this manual thoroughly before installation or use.
2. Informações de segurança
WARNING: Risk of electric shock or fire.
- A instalação e a manutenção devem ser realizadas somente por pessoal qualificado e autorizado.
- Always disconnect power before working on the device or electrical circuit.
- Ensure all local and national electrical codes and regulations are followed.
- Do not use the device if it is damaged or appears to be faulty.
- The device must be correctly rated for the circuit it protects.
O não cumprimento destas instruções pode resultar em morte, ferimentos graves ou danos ao equipamento.
3. Configuração e instalação
The Acti 9 iC60 RCBO is designed for DIN rail mounting. Ensure adequate space and ventilation around the device.
3.1 Montagem
Mount the RCBO onto a standard 35mm DIN rail. Ensure it is securely clipped into place.

3.2 fios
Connect the incoming and outgoing cables to the appropriate terminals. This is a 2-pole device. Refer to the wiring diagram on the device label and ensure correct polarity and torque for terminal screws.
- Potência de entrada: Connect to the top terminals (Line and Neutral).
- Outgoing Load: Connect to the bottom terminals (Line and Neutral).
- Ensure all connections are tight to prevent overheating and loose contacts.

4. Instruções de operação
The RCBO features a toggle switch for manual operation and a test button for verifying RCD functionality.
4.1 Ligando / Desligando
- Para ligar: Push the toggle switch upwards to the "ON" (I) position.
- Para desligar: Push the toggle switch downwards to the "OFF" (O) position.
4.2 Função de teste
The RCBO is equipped with a test button (marked "T" or "Test") to verify the residual current protection function. This test simulates an earth fault condition.
- Procedimento: With the RCBO in the "ON" position, press the test button. The RCBO should immediately trip to the "OFF" position.
- Redefinindo: To reset, push the toggle switch fully down to the "OFF" position, then push it up to the "ON" position.
- Freqüência: It is recommended to perform this test monthly to ensure proper operation of the RCD function.

5. Manutenção
The Acti 9 iC60 RCBO requires minimal maintenance. Regular testing of the RCD function is the primary maintenance task.
- Teste mensal: As described in Section 4.2, press the test button monthly to ensure the RCD mechanism is functioning correctly.
- Inspeção visual: Inspecione periodicamente o dispositivo para verificar se há sinais de danos físicos, descoloração ou conexões soltas.
- Limpeza: If necessary, gently clean the exterior of the device with a dry, soft cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
IMPORTANT: Do not attempt to open or repair the RCBO. Refer all servicing to qualified personnel.
6. Solução De Problemas
If the RCBO trips unexpectedly or fails to operate correctly, consider the following:
| Problema | Possível causa | Solução |
|---|---|---|
| RCBO trips immediately upon switching on. | Persistent earth fault, short circuit, or overload in the circuit. | Disconnect all loads and try to reset. If it holds, reconnect loads one by one to identify the faulty appliance/circuit. If it still trips, consult a qualified electrician. |
| RCBO trips intermittently. | Intermittent earth fault, transient overload, or faulty appliance. | Monitor the circuit for specific events that cause tripping. Check appliances for insulation faults. Consult a qualified electrician. |
| Test button does not trip the RCBO. | Faulty RCD mechanism or incorrect wiring. | Do not use the device. It may not provide earth fault protection. Immediately consult a qualified electrician for inspection and replacement if necessary. |
| RCBO does not reset after tripping. | Persistent fault in the circuit or internal device fault. | Ensure the toggle switch is pushed fully down to the "OFF" position before attempting to reset to "ON". If it still doesn't reset, there is likely a persistent fault or the device is damaged. Consult a qualified electrician. |
If troubleshooting steps do not resolve the issue, contact a qualified electrician or Schneider Electric customer support.
