2. Principais características
The Cressi Patrol BCD incorporates several design elements for enhanced performance and user convenience:
- Lightweight Rear Inflation Design: The BCD features a dorsal air cell, providing buoyancy from the back, which contributes to a streamlined profile and comfortable underwater trim.
- Air Cell Compression Strap: A specialized strap ensures rapid deflation and efficient volume control of the air cell.
- Rigid Back Plate with Integrated Handle: An ultralight rigid back plate offers optimal stability and includes a handle for easy carrying.
- Flat-Lock-Aid Integrated Weight System: This system allows for easy and secure integration and quick release of weights.
- Multiple Pressure Relief Valves: Equipped with three dump valves for efficient buoyancy control: one on the upper part of the inflator hose, one on the right shoulder, and a third on the lower right side of the air cell.
- Plastic D-Rings: Strategically placed plastic D-rings reduce overall weight while providing attachment points for accessories.
- Adjustable Harness System: The shoulder and waist harness are fully adjustable, accommodating a range of body sizes.
- Zippered Pockets: Pockets with zippers and bindings are located on the side lobes for secure storage.

3. Instruções de configuração
3.1 Attaching to a Scuba Tank
- Place the BCD on a flat surface with the backplate facing up.
- Position the scuba tank onto the BCD's backplate, ensuring the tank valve aligns with the BCD's tank band.
- Secure the tank band tightly around the tank. Ensure the tank is stable and does not wobble.
- Connect the low-pressure inflator hose from your regulator first stage to the BCD's inflator mechanism.
3.2 Ajustando o chicote
The Cressi Patrol BCD features an adjustable harness system for a secure and comfortable fit.
- Alças de ombro: Adjust the shoulder straps so the BCD sits comfortably on your back without restricting movement.
- Alça de cintura: Fasten the waist strap and adjust it snugly around your waist.
- Alça de peito: Secure the chest strap across your sternum and adjust for comfort.
- Ensure all straps are tightened sufficiently to prevent the BCD from shifting during a dive, but not so tight as to cause discomfort or restrict breathing.
3.3 Loading Weight Pockets
The Flat-Lock-Aid integrated weight system allows for easy loading and release of weights.
- Insert soft or hard weights into the designated weight pockets. The pockets can hold up to 4.5 kg (approximately 10 lbs) each.
- Ensure the weight pockets are fully inserted and securely locked into place. A distinct click or visual confirmation should indicate proper engagement.
- Distribute weights evenly between the left and right pockets for balanced trim.
4. Operating the BCD
4.1 Inflação e Deflação
- Power Inflation: Press the inflation button on the inflator mechanism to add air to the BCD from your tank.
- Oral Inflation: To orally inflate, press the deflate button and blow into the mouthpiece of the inflator hose.
- Deflação:
- Press the deflate button on the inflator mechanism to release air.
- Pull the cord of the right shoulder dump valve to release air.
- Pull the cord of the lower right dump valve to release air.
- Pull down on the inflator hose itself to activate the upper left dump valve.
- Always maintain neutral buoyancy underwater and positive buoyancy at the surface.
4.2 Weight Release
In an emergency, the integrated weight pockets can be quickly released.
- Locate the quick-release handles on the weight pockets.
- Pull firmly on the handles to release the weight pouches. Practice this procedure in a controlled environment.
5. Cuidados e Manutenção
Proper care extends the life of your BCD and ensures its reliable operation.
- Lavagem: After each dive, thoroughly rinse the BCD with fresh water, both inside and out. Inflate the BCD slightly, fill the air cell with fresh water through the oral inflator, slosh it around, and then drain it completely.
- Secagem: Pendure o colete equilibrador em um local sombreado e bem ventilado para secar completamente. Evite a luz solar direta, que pode degradar os materiais.
- Armazenar: Store the BCD partially inflated in a cool, dry place away from chemicals, heat sources, and direct sunlight. Do not store heavy items on top of the BCD.
- Inspeções: Regularly inspect all straps, buckles, hoses, and valves for signs of wear, damage, or corrosion.
- Manutenção profissional: Have your BCD professionally inspected and serviced by an authorized Cressi dealer annually or as recommended by local diving regulations.
6. Solução De Problemas
| Problema | Possível causa | Solução |
|---|---|---|
| BCD loses air rapidly | Leaking inflator valve, torn air cell, open dump valve. | Inspect inflator and dump valves for debris. Check air cell for punctures. If damage is found, seek professional repair. |
| Difficulty inflating BCD | Low-pressure hose disconnected, regulator first stage not supplying air, inflator button stuck. | Ensure LP hose is securely connected. Check air supply to regulator. Clean or free stuck inflator button. |
| Difficulty deflating BCD | Deflate button stuck, dump valve stuck closed. | Check and free deflate button. Inspect dump valves for obstructions. |
| Weight pockets not securing | Pockets not fully inserted, locking mechanism obstructed. | Ensure pockets are pushed in completely until they click. Check for debris in the locking mechanism. |
If you encounter issues not listed here or if solutions do not resolve the problem, contact an authorized Cressi service center or your diving professional.
