3. Configuração

3.1 Assembling the Camera Cage (Kit 4184)

1. Ensure your Sony FX30 or FX3 camera is powered off and lenses are removed for safety.
2. Carefully align the camera with the cage. The cage is designed to fit precisely around the camera body.
3. Secure the camera within the cage using the provided screws. Typically, a 1/4"-20 screw at the bottom and an anti-twist pin or side screw will secure the camera firmly. Refer to the included tools for tightening.
4. Attach the dedicated HDMI cable clamp to the cage if you plan to use an external monitor or recorder. Ensure the cable is securely fastened to prevent accidental disconnections. (Refer to Figure 2.2.5)
5. If using the Sony audio handle, attach the XLR extension component to the cage as needed.

3.2 Attaching the Sling Handle (3028C)

1. Identify the NATO rail on your DJI RS 2, RSC 2, RS 3, RS 3 Pro, or RS 3 Mini gimbal.
2. Align the NATO clamp of the Sling Handle with the gimbal's NATO rail.
3. Tighten the NATO clamp's locking lever until the handle is securely attached to the gimbal. Ensure the anti-off button is engaged for added security. (Refer to Figure 2.2.6)
4. Adjust the angle of the handle using the ratchet knob. The handle can pivot up to 180° to achieve desired low-angle or side-handle configurations.
5. Ensure the handle is mounted on the left side of the gimbal to avoid interference with control buttons. (Refer to Figure 2.2.9)

4. Operação

4.1 Handheld Operation

• Once the camera is secured in the cage, use the cage's integrated grip or attach the hand strap for stable handheld shooting.
• For low-angle shots or improved ergonomics with a gimbal, utilize the Sling Handle. Adjust its angle to find the most comfortable and stable position. (Refer to Figure 2.2.7 and 2.2.8)
• The cage provides numerous 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 ARRI anti-twist threads, as well as cold shoe mounts, for attaching external monitors, microphones, LED lights, or other accessories.

4.2 Tripod and Gimbal Integration

• The cage features an Arca-Swiss compatible quick release plate at the bottom, allowing for rapid transitions between handheld and tripod setups without removing the camera from the cage. (Refer to Figure 2.2.4)
• When using the Sling Handle with a DJI gimbal, ensure the gimbal is properly balanced with the camera and cage attached. The handle's weight and position will affect the gimbal's balance.

5. Manutenção

• Limpeza: Wipe the cage and handle with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust and fingerprints. For stubborn dirt, a slightly damp Pode-se usar um pano e secar imediatamente. Evite produtos de limpeza abrasivos ou solventes.
• Inspeção: Regularly check all screws and connections for tightness. Re-tighten if necessary to ensure the camera and accessories remain secure.

• Lubrificação: The moving parts of the sling handle (e.g., ratchet knob) are designed for smooth operation and generally do not require lubrication. If movement becomes stiff, contact support.

• Camera not fitting in cage: Ensure you have the correct cage model for your Sony FX30 or FX3. Double-check alignment and ensure no obstructions are present. Do not force the camera into the cage.
• Accessories feel loose: Verify that all 1/4"-20, 3/8"-16, and NATO clamp screws are fully tightened. If an accessory continues to loosen, inspect the threads for damage.
• Sling handle not adjusting smoothly: Check the ratchet knob for any debris or obstructions. Ensure it is not overtightened or damaged.
• HDMI cable disconnecting: Ensure the HDMI cable clamp is properly installed and tightened around the cable. Use a high-quality HDMI cable.
• Gimbal balance issues with sling handle: Re-balance your gimbal after attaching the sling handle and any additional accessories. The handle's weight and position will affect the gimbal's balance.
